Pharrell William’s turned up in Cannes for the 2010 NRJ Music Awards wearing a pair of Nike Snowboarding x Arbito Zoom Force 1 Boots. In my opinion the word bozo springs to mind, maybe he should hang out with vicky (see Chanel Post). Make your own mind up about his choice of shoe for the occasion…
In 2008 I went to the China Design Now exhibition at the V&A which was an excellent show of the design, architecture, fashion and culture in modern day China. It was here that I bought the two wee pandas (above in their family portrait!) by Jiji which sit on my mantel place.
Chinese artist Jiji has just opened his first solo show at Palais De Tokyo in Paris, exhibiting his humorous and slightly evil model panda’s and prints.
I wonder what the chat was like between Kanye, Pharrell and Anna Wintour!
Hi Panda vs Hello Kitty…who’d win?
If Carlsberg made half pipes they’d probably be the best half pipes in the world… Hell no, Red Bull made one recently and made it all for pro boarder Shaun White. Imagine that! The video is inevitably quite cheesy and I wish someone would tell him to trim his mane! Thankfully the predictable rocker love hand gesture (see below) appears only once, but when you get past all that it doesn’t seem too nippy and I quite enjoyed it. There’s no denying that Redbull have produced a pretty amazing pipe for the 23 year old snowboarder.

This is brilliant and highly recommend taking the 3 minute 10 seconds out of your busy life to enjoy this animation. Luxury knitwear Pringle commissioned David Shrigley to create a humorous animation about life behind-the-scenes at Pringle to celebrate the brands return to Milan Fashion Week. I love the voice over and all the subtle humour within the illustration.
This spring Chanel are bringing out a range of surf boards for all those celebrities to rip some waves in style. Like the Chanel ski’s I can’t really imagine anyone but the Beckhams or supermodels actually buying these, to help them attempted some gnarly extreme sports!! Here is a collection of other sports wear that Chanel have made to make the lives of the rich and famous that little bit more chic. Cough, Naff.
…Ummm, I was sure there was a beach in central Paris….keep walking love!
Ohh yes, the Chanel rubber dingy, what better vessle to watch F1 in Monaco than this…WHY bother Chanel?!!!
Ahhhh, thats why!! So that you can use your Chanel Angling Kit of course ( follow the link for a rant about this ridiculous Kit written by an equally bemused blogger) . But don’t forget to remove your 6″ heels as you may tear the dingy, I would recommend these bad boys…
What’s more manly than seeing a guy playing basketball with, yes you got it, a Chanel basket ball or American football.
…ohh dear. I just don’t see them catching on… Stick to the perfumes and the clothing.
Finally, Victoria Beckham’s Area of expertise. Look how she demonstrates the skill and poise required in skiing, not to mention the excellent choice of clothing.
Bend ze Kneez Vicky!
She forgot to put her ski boots on, either that or she’s walking back from the hire company which I highly doubt…

Dame Vivienne Westwood has colaborated with Cole & Son to produce a beautiful collection of wallpaper based on some of her most celebrated designs including her 1997 Spring/ Summer Cut-Out Lace from the ‘I am Expensive’ collection, which looks stunning. The Trompe l’oeil Drape (below) is very flambouant and screams Westwood. As expected there is a very British feel running through the collection, an example of this style is the Union Jack print which has all the attitude that is expected from Westwood.
“It is good when my ideas get carried over into other artistic media. This collection is a perfect opportunity to be able to work with a heritage company like Cole & Son and to see my ideas from fashion translated into the world of interiors and wallpaper”
The Union Jack print reminded me of Mario Testino’s beautiful October 2008 shoot for Vogue where Kate Moss was dressed in recycled flags… How could you forget it!
Beautifully shot, with creative camera techniques, not your average snowboarding video, plus it delivers a message of choice and change.
