The sculptural handknitted collection ‘More or Less’ is inspired by organic forms, animal life and nature. Using thick woolen yarns in off-white colors, Nanna van Blaaderen experimented in combining knitting techniques with braidingtechniques. This resulted in various expressive garments of voluminous structures and forms. (Via Nanna Van Blaaderen’s website)
Check out her other beautiful collection Species. A Tribute here

48 hour Stitch Lounge is Edinburgh’s first pop-up Stitch Lounge! One weekend of making, stitching, creating, discussing and inspiring, the weekend is free and open to everyone, regardless of experience. See below for more info and join 48 hour Stitch Lounge Facebook page for updates and news. Spread the word, it’s a very exciting project!
Edinburgh’s first ever ‘Pop-up” Stitch Lounge : 21st & 22nd May 2011, 10am-10pm
As part of the ‘No Concessions’ fashion season at Inspace, the Stitch Lounge is taking over the laboratory, bringing ‘makers’ and ‘players’ together for one weekend only to create some fast fashion. We’ve patterns at the ready, 10 Singer sewing machines raring to go, plus hundreds of meters of white fabric and a ton of clothes to customise. Everyone is encouraged to join in, experiment and get those little hands busy.
Punctuating the weekend, and just in time for Afternoon Tea too, the Stitch Lounge will host informal round table discussions by fashion industry specialists on Saturday and Sunday at 4:00 pm. Work in progress will go on display at 8:00 pm on Saturday 21st, and then on Sunday 22nd at 8:00 pm the weekend will conclude with an off-the-wall runway show, bubbly and live music. The shows about to start…
Supported by Singer. Part of the ‘No Concessions’ fashion|technology season.
Producer: Carrie Maginn and Creative Director: Mark Daniels

This month brings the release of the Lamborghini Aventador. Below is their epic yet totally ridiculous promo film that shows the Aventador battling against the forces of nature, in a Hollywood 2012 kind of way. The three-minute video was shot in the Californian desert, Coyote Dry Lakebed and directed by Ole Peters.
“the Aventador was named for a Spanish fighting bull from the breeding stables of the sons of Don Celestino Cuadri Vides. Signed number 32 on his hide, Aventador gained fame in 1993 in the town of Zaragoza, Spain after a notably spirited, bloody and violent battle with a torero that earned it the “Trofeo de la Peña La Madroñera” for its courage.” Good old Wikipedia
See the similarities!!! See Cusack didn’t even have a Aventador and he beat the forces of nature. Personally I still prefer the advertising style used for the 2010 the Lamborghini Reventón Roadster.

Below are photos by LA-based photographer Nicholas Alan Cope. I’m not going to try putting in to words how I feel about this series entitled ‘Paper’ as I won’t do it any justice! Check out his other work here. His still life work is incredible, they have the aesthetic of paintings depicting 16th century banquets but with less of the indulgence and gluttony seen in such paintings. Nicholas’ work is definitely worth a look.

Below is a new fashion film tribute to Alexander McQueen from photographer Nick Knight. The film featured on his impressive SHOWstudio is set to an exclusive track by Bjork. The trio collaborated many times over McQueen’s career so it seems a very fitting tribute.
‘This film is my way of speaking about a very unique and important person who changed my life. My desire was to speak in some way about the dark and the light contained within Lee, and within us all.’

For all you camera geeks out there this mug has to be the best way to drink a wee tea on a cold day. The mug looks just like a 24-105mm lens and is complete with a lens cap lid, rubber grip focus and zoom rings and an auto focus switch!! Maybe they’ll make some shot glasses out of a fixed 50mm lens. Anyway get your mug HERE for $24.00, that a whole £14.83 very well spent I think.
